Major reason why Hydroponic farming has advantage over soil grown crops

Hydroponic is the modern technology of the agriculture.  Hydroponic farming in the innovating the future of agriculture  due to following reason. you can start hydroponic farming by investing small amount of money. If you have small area having less fertile soil so you can start hydroponic farming. Hydroponic farming has more benefit and more advantage over soil grown crop these are  as follow :- 1.  Faster growing  According to studies hydroponic farming is the 50% faster growing over traditional farming. This is because by providing a constant and available nutrients to the plants regular so it grow faster. this farming also eliminate the herbicide and pesticide. the nutrients are directly given to the plant through water and favorable environment also a major reason of faster growing plant. 2. Better yield According to studies hydroponic farming produces 80% higher yield because you can mange the nutrients and environment condition like temperature, light, mo...

hydroponic farming and different type of hydroponic farming

In this blog we will discuss about hydroponic farming What is hydroponic and different type of hydroponic.

What is hydroponic farming ?

hydroponic is the type of horticulture and a subset of horticulture, which is a method of growing plant, usually crops without soil by using mineral nutrients solution .

Basically hydroponic is the technique of growing plant without soil.
Nutrients used in hydroponic systems may come from a variety of sources, including (but not limited to) fish excreta, duck manure, purchased chemical fertilizers, or artificial nutrient solutions.

Type of hydroponic farming :-

  • Wick
  • water culture
  • EBB and flow
  • Drip system
  • NFT
  • Aeroponic

1. Wick method

The wick system is by far the simplest type of hydroponic system. There are no moving nutrients in this medium. The nutrient solution is drawn from the reservoir with a wick into the growing medium. Free plans are available for a simple wick system .

This system can use a variety of mounting mediums. The most popular are perlite, vermiculite, pro-mix and coconut fiber.

2. Water culture

The water culture system is the simplest of all active hydroponic systems. The platform that holds the plants is usually made of Styrofoam and floats directly on the nutrient solution. An air pump supplies air to the air stone which bubbles up the nutrient solution and supplies oxygen to the roots of the plants.

Water culture is the system of choice for growing foliage, fast growing water loving plants, making them an ideal choice for this type of hydroponic system. Very few plants other than lettuce will do well in this type of system.

3. EBB and Flow

The Ebb and Flow system works by temporarily filling the growing tray with a nutrient solution and then pouring the solution into the reservoir. This action is usually performed with a submerged pump that is connected to a timer.

4. Drip system

The drip system is  widely used hydroponic system . In this operation, a submersible pump. The timer turns on the pump and the nutrient solution is dripped by a small drip line at the base of each plant. I

5. N.F.T

There is a continuous flow of nutrient solution in the system so no timer is required for the submersible pump. The nutrient solution is pumped into the growing tray (usually a tube) and flows to the roots of the plants, and then goes back into the reservoir.

6. Aeroponic

The aeroponic system is possibly the most high-tech type of hydroponic gardening. Like NFT The system above the mounting medium is primarily air. Roots hang in the air and are smeared with nutrient solution. Mistakes are usually made every few minutes. Because the roots open up like air like N.F.T. System, the roots will dry faster if the staining cycle is interrupted.
